I'm less sad to see him retire than I was to watch him sweat/pitch the last couple of years.

I'm intrigued at what Amaro can do with the $20M saved.... haha, just kidding.

will you shut the fucking fuck up

Says the guy with 35000 posts.

And, "No."

maybe i misread the intention of your post. was it to confirm why he should be retiring a bluejay or to shit on him for his performance here the past 2 seasons? If thats the first thing you think of when you hear news of him retiring, then my original comment stands

2001-2011

2300 IP on the nose
319 starts, 2 games in relief (one against the Phils, I believe), finished 64 of them, or just over 20%
1795K 397BB
175-78 for a .692 win percentage
1.113 WHIP
2.98 ERA 148 ERA+

Someday, if things break just right, the phils may be fortunate enough to be able to attract a player of that caliber to their organization

My computer blue screened after posting that. I can only assume out of inconsolable sorrow.

Thanks Roy. Those two years were amazing. I really regret only seeing him pitch once.

Yea, I mean, we won 97 and 102 games in 2010 and 2011. Sometimes things just don't break for you in the playoffs. 2011 was the big heartbreaker for me when we COULDN'T SCORE A FUCKING RUN in Game 5. Sorry, I'm still bitter.

"I think the one thing I took away from that is you can have the best team on paper, you can have the guys who want it the most," Halladay said. "But when the squirrel runs across home plate while your team is trying to pitch, there is nothing you can do about that. So you really start to realize there are a lot of things out of your control. It takes more than nine guys. It takes nine guys, and it takes the 25 on the roster. It takes the coaches, the staff, and it takes a lot of luck."

Amaro had nothing to do with those teams that won all those games. The credit should go to Ed Wade or even Roy Hamey.

If ownership lets him trade for Halladay and keep Lee in 2010, they may have won it all
