and my keeper fantasy team. Do I still keep him all through 2014 taking up a DL spot?

I'm in the same boat. But I would have to drop either Wainwright, or one of the 5 position players I've kept together for several years. Leaning toward dropping him, as stashing players never seems to work out for me, and I still managed to win the league with Harvey and CarGo on the DL most of the second half. YMMV.

He was battling injury all season. I think they DH'd him a lot.

Yes, they did. (They also had Lino most of the season at Williamsport). Still a catching prospect, should be ready when the season starts.

Heard the Medlen interview after he found out, he's a darn Barve, but the interview was pretty heartbreaking.

Remember when people used to say that pitchers actually got better after a TJ surgery?

I remember reading speculation that the likely reason for the apparent improvement is the intense physical therapy required following TJ surgery made the pitcher stronger than he was before. Nowadays weight training and other conditioning is much more prevalent than when the surgery was first introduced that it might mitigate this effect.

Arizona is becoming Barves West with these TJ surgeries. David Hernandez is the latest to tear his UCL
