I didn't even think of that. It makes me feel just a teeny bit better.

A Phillies broadcast will never be the same for me.

I'm so glad the Phils won one last season before he passed.

I can't fathom how the guys will be able to call the game in an hour.

presumably he didn't suffer, and by all accounts, he led a pretty amazing life. can't ask for much more than that.

Just heard. Not sunk in yet.

Not long ago, maybe even earlier today, I thought that he looked so bad, it wouldn't surprise me if they announced he had lung cancer. This blew me away.

I'm heartbroken, being such a close follower of broadcasters and TV personalities throughout my life and having dreams of being one as a kid. Harry was the first voice that I ever connected with. I don't know what to say. RIP Harry.

I'm glad at least that with the the World Championship and all the ceremonies surrounding it there were plenty of opportunites for fans to let him know how they felt about him, even if he didn't get a retirement tour.

This is devastating.

I am extremely grateful for having the privilege of listening to him call Phillies games for the entirety of my short time on this planet. No one can or will replace him.

I feel like I lost a member of the family. I've been listening to him since he got here, starting with a little transistor radio stashed under my pillow.

This is terrible. I'm a cold bastard, but this is really, really tough.

My son was an infant when Richie died, and "heard" his last broadcast from his crib - I used to put him to sleep with the Phillies on the radio, just to get him used to it.

We watched / listened to Harry's last game together yesterday.

Can't believe he's gone. The % of games I "watch" on the internet will now leap to about 100.

My sentiments exactly. His loss feels like a family member died.
