Not to lose a set in the whole tournament is something else.

props to Roger but from the outside it really seems like a sport devoid of young stars.

All time greats don't come every decade and Nadal and Fed are both top 5 all time with Joker knocking on the door.

Those 10 years have been occupied by the greatest talent the sport has ever seen. If Feds, Rafa and Djokovic aren't around there are other guys winning a bunch of majors.

Exactly, and Murray is arguably a borderline top 10 all time talent. It is like saying there was no young QB talent in the NFL because Manning and Brady were winning all the SB's.

so who are the young stars lol

I'm not a tennis fan, really. I don't see anyone else climbing the ranks. instead of telling my who is a young star you take this circuitous route to tell me I'm wrong.

There is definitely a dearth in young talent coming up. The last guy I even remember watching and thinking he had serious game, and was below the age of 25, is the biggest ---hole in the sport right now, Nick Kyrgios. He has the size and the shots, but his mental game is arguably the worst I've ever seen in professional sports. He'll quit any time for any reason. There are plenty of stories of basket case types turning it around, but I'm very doubtful with him. He would also be a cancer to the sport and bring nothing but negative attention, and not in the John McEnroe kind of way.

Even worse than the overall lack of young talent is the American young talent outlook. We have nothing at the top already, but the next line of up and coming kids profile more as "hopeful" top 10-15 types rather than someone who can lead the sport after the big 4 (Federer, Djokovic, Murray and Nadal) retire. Keep an eye out for Taylor Fritz as someone who could have an Andy Roddick type of career though. That kid has skills, and is breaking a lot of "youngest" records in American tennis.

What do you consider young? Raonic, Thiem, Kyrgios all have a chance to win majors in the next few years. Nishikori is 27 so he may not qualify.

Zverev also has potential and he is 20 and ranked 12th in the world. Coric is 19 I believe and has great potential.

You probably don't know a lot about them if you don't follow tennis.

If you went back to when Sampras and Agassi were winning all those majors people probably said the same thing about young talent coming up. The thing is, Sampras and Aggasi were never as dominant as Fed and Nadal have been so some guys got some majors. Joker and Murray are much better than anything Sampras or Agassi had to face imo and they will end up #3 and #4 in this generation of tennis.
