I mean, Horford/Tobi/Richardson/Harden/Simmons probably would fuck up the east pretty good next year. Considering our cap situation, I have no idea how they’d expect to pull him in as a free agent in two years (unless it’s via sign and trade, but I don’t expect us to have anything high dollar and appealing on our roster at that point except for Jo and Ben and they’ll probably be worth more than Harden at that point unless there are injuries).

I think Harden is pretty good, would be cool to have him

also just recently turned 31, not 33

I think CFP is pointing out how old he’d be when he hits FA

Maybe the Rockets trade him but I don't know it would be because they worried about him leaving after two more full seasons.

Harden for Embiid and Horford. Or Ben and Horford.

Nevermind, out of my element. No clue how the NBA cap works and the Rockets would be real dumbasses to do that.

ah. I think Embiid's next deal at 28 is going to about as terrifying so I'd just worry about that later. two seasons is a long time in the NBA lately

Embiid or Horford or Simmons + Richardson would all work from a cap perspective.

Simmons, Thybulle, Harden, Tobi and Horford seems like a fun starting 5

Tobi seems like a guy they'd want to keep in the lineup if they did that deal.

If D'Antoni comes in and we keep our two stars and trade Tobi instead of Al, I would be so confused. So bank on that being the thing that happens.

I legit wouldn't trade Joel or Ben at all.

But if I did I'd want it to look like - Joel to the Warriors for Wiggins and #2 overall or Joel to the Pelicans for Ingram, Holliday and a #13

The inside source guy over on RealGM says that it's one person and one person only pushing for D'Antoni, and it's Josh Harris. They rest of ownership and front office types want Lue.

It really sucks that a team with a lot of likable young players is saddled with such shit ownership for the foreseeable future.

I'd hate that first trade. I could probably be talked into the second one if D'Antoni is coming on board.

Is that the person who called Horford last year?

Simmons and Embiid are likely to remain all star players much longer than D’Antoni would be expected to be the coach here so trading one of them to accommodate him seems extremely silly.

In that sense it does seem like something that would come from Harris.
Two days later I get a text back that says I'm a basketball player and a businessman, not a Thundercat.

Man that would be bad because then a white owner would be hiring a white coach, which wouldn't be good. If the Black coach is hired by the Black GM, it would be more good than the white thing, but at the same time you can't criticize if they hire D'Antoni because he's still good. /Pompey

Will either Embiid or Simmons be good enough to be the best player on a championship team? Right now that appears like you need a top 10 guy in the league to win a title (Maybe Denver, Miami or Boston can break that trend).

Id say they’re closer than every player down the roster being good enough to be the respective X best player on a championship team. And in which I’m not sure why we want this front office that got all those players to be in charge of trading them.
