@KevinOConnorNBA
Rumblings of Mike D'Antoni going to the Sixers have gotten much louder this past day. Nothing's final, I'm just intrigued since his preferred style isn't a fit for Philly's roster. It'd be weird. Would hiring him be a precursor to changes to modernize the team? MDA does love CP3.

I prefer him over Lue, at least he has proven he can have success on the offensive end.

everyone and their mother called the knicks job a bad fit and guess what.... granted it's the knicks, but some may say sixers ownership/front office may be kinda dysfunctional too. still question his loyalty to the colangelos and thinking ownership done them dirty. could've gotten a blessing from them too, who knows.

honestly not my first, second or third choice. good coach but bad fit. he'd really have to be excited and knock me out of my socks with his plan to implement the roster.

FWIW those Cavs teams had some of the best offenses ever. I know I know lebron and kyrie but also Nash and harden.

Wasn't the offense pretty good before he took over there? Also it is hard to ignore that last season and the mess.

Sometimes shit runs stale and a change needs to be made. Look at Reid and the Eagles situation.

He was given a roster built to tank. No coach was going to succeed. Not sure why he was canned so quickly. He may have wanted out.

Yeah I know, and it was a bad team after LeBron left. It is just hard for me to take a chance on him if I am Elton when your job is probably on the line. Lue was 1-18 in games LeBron didn't play or wasn't in Cleveland. They won that game by 1 point.

LeBron leaving is a sea change -- I wouldn't infer much either way.

You can make comparisons to DAntoni taking over the rockets when they’d already made the WCF like 12 months before he was hired and him flaming out in NY. I’m not in love with either, probably not that much better than brown but new eyes and voice and so on.

Neither guy is my top choice but if it is down to those two I prefer D'Antoni.

He was 0-6 when LeBron actually left, the other games he was resting or hurt. I don't know how many games Love and Kyrie played in without LeBron but I know they did in the one game they won.

According to @KeithSmithNBA, the Sixers are letting teams know they are open to trade talks if they hire Mike D’Antoni as their next head coach.

But not if they hire someone else? Really odd.

this talk with MDA almost reminds of the media saying that brown getting fired after losing to toronto was a done deal. that never felt right and this doesn't either.

I would hope they were always open for trade talks or else that is a problem.

As much as I love making fun of the Sixers cluelessness, Keith Smith doesn't actually know anything about anything.

Signed off on dantoni and trading for Paul - ideally with Tobi as the guy going out (plus no other significant assets)

Chances that this D'Antoni chatter is an attempt to try to work down any potential Lue contract demands?

It’d be pretty funny if that’s what it was and then Lue decided to take a job elsewhere because of it.
