Can you name the last Western Conference Team to make the Finals without Dirk, Curry, Durant,Duncan, Kobe or Kawhi on the team?

No way I'd know that without looking it up but here are some options:

95 Rockets (they were like the 5 or 6 seed)
04 Pistons (I assume Wallace or someone got votes though)
11 Mavs (people were pretty down on Dirk)
14 Spurs (machine)

The Spurs Borg probably had the "worst" best player but they had such a good record I feel like Duncan or someone probably got votes by default. Guess I'm going with the Mavs?

The 2014 Spurs was correct, but the MVP race that year did have Duncan and Parker tie for 12th.

Dirk was sixth in 2011.

I was surprised Kawhi was in the top ten last year.

That Spurs team was crazy. They won 62 games and smashed the Heatles in 5 with no one that averaged 30 MPG, 17 PPG, 10 RPG or 6 APG during the regular season. 4 hall of famers but none of them were in their primes at that point.

That's an interesting one. I think when healthy, he's a better version of what Richardson is, so I guess it depends on the price. If they don't think they can re-sign him, maybe Richardson, Scott (for salary filler), and a first rounder or two gets you there. You run the risk that he might leave after next year, but I could live with a Ben-Oladipo-Thybulle-Harris-Embiid lineup next year with Horford and Milton as your top two off the bench.

No on paying any sort of value on oladipo. zero indication he’s the same player he was in his all-nba season.

Man, imagine having a closer like Jimmy Butler. All our team would be missing is a guy who’s automatic from beyond the arc. Maybe like a JJ Redick type.

Everyone nationally seems to realize/ respect how good he is. Credit to him for putting in the work on that ends - remember the nrtv at LSU about how he couldn’t defend? Though no one really could have predicted he would turn into a lockdown perimeter defender at that point
