A's have a COVID positive (unknown if player or staff), Sunday's game at Houston ppd. I think this is the first COVID postponement in either of the west divisions

Is it just me or have there been a ton of people sliding past the bag on stolen base attempts this year?

No, you're the only one who's been sliding past the bag.

Tonight is Bert Blyleven's final game in the Twins booth after 25 years. He's moving to a "special assistant" position for the front office, greeting fans and doing guest appearances for the club

Was at Shea stadium and saw his first big league shutout.

That’s really cool.

August 13, 1967. First game of a doubleheader. Went on a bus with other little leaguers from Pottsville. One kid was a big Mets fan and, after the game, said we’d be able to say we saw Tom Seaver’s first big league shutout. Damn, if he wasn’t right.

Where have all those years gone?

tmac told some story about lee macphail picking the mets name out of a hat that also contained the phillies and indians, saying that's how seaver wound up in ny. i was only half-listening but don't recall ever hearing that before.
