Four people in the Yankees organization have tested positive for the coronavirus, reports George A. King III of the New York Post. Training in Tampa, the Yankees are the latest team based in Florida to have reported positive tests, along with the Phillies (Clearwater) and the Blue Jays (Dunedin).

So all this negative PR both sides are getting which was deserved - is all moot because they probably never should have been playing and probably won't now.

Yep. A lot of willful blindness going on with the return of sports in general right now. Easier for leagues and media to pretend COVID was/is over.

The labor dispute sucks, but the COVID plans are fine. Numbers will go down but there will continue to be positives, probably including some front line players during the season. Yes, there could be serious cases or even deaths, though the latter is looking extremely unlikely based on data.

This is life in 2020-21 not just for sports but pretty much everything. The alternative - shutting it down - doesn't keep people out of danger either.

Yea, it's not a case of when/if this will be over, it's just that most institutions are in the infant stages of understanding the new normal, so to speak. Life and entertainment will find its way.

MLB and MLBPA apparently haggling down to a 5PM MLBPA Executive Committee vote on whether to affirmatively agree to the 60 game proposal (or to just have it imposed on them retaining their grievance/lawsuit) rights.

I watched a few minutes of Serie A this morning. I'm ready to have some baseball, and I don't think not have a crowd will be a huge deal. I do hope they can keep everyone safe.
