Also, not sure why sims and forecasts predict the Phils to be so bad this year in whatever the season would be... certainly not saying they are favorites and they do have holes but they went from one legit starter in Nola to two top of the rotation guys adding Wheeler... Arrieta should be healthy, fwiw.. Howard might be ready soon... bullpens are unpredictable but they have a bunch of arms to throw out there and a semi-dependable Neris to close... Cutch should be back healthy, they added Didi... Bohm is about ready... not seeing the 20 games out look that I've been hearing...

Basketball just isn't interesting until the All-Star break. Starting around Christmas/New Year adds an honest layer of excitement. The winter will probably look like more of a drag though, but spring feels like a great time to hype up on all-star stuff and ride that excitement for the 2nd half

Starting around Christmas means the nba all star game would be around mlb opening day right after the final four. That would be a pretty fun run right there.

I would guess NBC will work this out among their networks, right? Just put the better / bigger game on NBC10 if there isn't a conflicting live show, or utilize some other regional network they may have?

They'd probably use NBC Sports Philadelphia for one and NBC Sports Philadelphia+ for the other. Tricky part would be if the Sixers, Phillies, and Flyers are all playing at the same time.
