JT is projected at 10.3, he's going for it.
Two days later I get a text back that says I'm a basketball player and a businessman, not a Thundercat.

Glad they're saving all this money. Guess Phanatic won't have to switch to Gwaltney for the hot dog cannon after all

One thing I have heard repeatedly from players, announcers, and pretty much anyone covering the sign-stealing scandal is that every team is doing it in some way or another. This, of course, got me thinking about our Phightins. One thing that really bothered me over the past several seasons while watching Odubel is the way he often takes pitches with absolutely no intention of ever swinging the bat. It's like sometimes he just leaves the bat on the shoulder and never even bothers to seriously look at the pitch. How can a player continuously give away a couple pitches during every AB? It didn't make sense to me. UNLESS, he knew for sure what was coming. :q:

Phillies have designed OF Odubel Herrera for assignment and claimed OF Nick Martini off waivers from the Reds

Someone refresh my recollection as to what happens next

is it:
1. Phillies have 7 days to trade him
2. Then he goes through waivers where some team could claim him
3. If not claimed, he either accepts an assignment to AAA (and gets paid his contract) or refuses his assignment and the Phillies are off the hook?

If it gets to #3, The Phils can also release him, but pay him, instead of assigning him to the minors.
Yes son. I'm the best mono-thingy guy there ever was.

Phillies are responsible for the remaining $19.5 million on his contract over the next two years. He will count as $6.1 million against the luxury tax calculation in 2020 and 2021, assuming he is not claimed on waivers.

That seems like a safe assumption, unfortunately.

Hope Harvey Wallbanger is next but they'll probably claim Tom Collins instead.

While highly doubtful I hope some team is willing to claim Odubs if we attach some dollars and/or middling prospects

If we're dumpster-diving at this point, I'd take a flier on Zack Cozart once he clears. Traded from LAA to SF, now DFA'd.
