After a conference call among owners this afternoon, Major League Baseball is expected to suspend spring training. The league likely will delay the beginning of the regular season as well. At this point, it's a formality that ownership-level sources expect to happen.

MLB has to think about reducing the number of games played now with the season being delayed at least 2 weeks.

Wonder if there's a salary reduction in the player contracts or CBA for that. If not I picture a lot of split double headers.

I guess those games would just be played up here at that point? Spring training in late May in Florida sounds awfully hot and humid. And AZ for that matter.
