Bellande isn't as bad as a lot of people make him to be.... if he is fat going in to survivor, at least he'll lose some weight eating sticks and worms....

On the Shawn Sheikan thing(facing deportation because of a misdemeanor that he served time for 15? years ago, lifted from 2+2:

I consider Sheik a friend, but hes impossible to defend on all sorts of things.

This one probably easier than most, amazingly. Hes done all sorts of [censored]....... and it seems strange that the thing that he might get permanently nailed with........ was somewhat innocent and he already served his time for.

Apparently, while he was working in CA........ he was arrested and served time for sexual battery.

I believe he spent nine months in prison. The sexual battery stemmed from a sexual relationship he had with a minor.

He was 23 and she was 17.

He was picked up on the Friday night of Labor Day weekend (you can tell if youve pissed someone off cause they do this to force you to spend at least one extra day in jail or, in this case, the immigration tank).

Despite having probably the best lawyer in town, he couldnt get bail. Despite the reports that bail was set at 100k, to the best of my knowledge in all immigration cases...... the Dept of homeland Security has to approve bail....... and in this case, it was denied.

Who the [censored] knows what he did or who he pissed off.

If it was a simple immigration case..... it shoulve been over already. He has a family (wife and child)...... has multiple legitimate businesses and to the best of my knowledge pays his taxes.

It would seem like someone has it out for him based on what most people i know tell me SHOULD happen in a case like this and what IS happening to HIM.

All I know is....... in this day and age...... it wouldnt be so far fetched that he pissed the wrong guy off (god knows if anyone could do it, he could) and they remarkably found a name similar to Sharam Al Sheikan on a terrorist watch-list somewhere and now think his businesses might be a front for laundering terrorist money through online poker sites or some ungodly, who the [censored] knows, [censored] like that..........

Point is, theres more going on here i think....... than anyone knows........

But those are the facts to the best of my knowledge........ from talking to friends of Shawn.... and Sheiky himself.

It's really amazing to read some of the anti-immigrant/perm resident stuff at 2+2 too. I wanted to respond but the original thread got shut down. People were saying that civil rights were for Americans and deport his ass etc. I guess people are only 'enlightened' in regards to poker over there.

Did you guys catch WSOP last night with Havad Khan getting completely outplayed and then hitting quad Qs on the flop? What a lucky bastard! Instead of dancing around like an imbecile he should've been thanking this lucky stars. At least now I have somebody to root against.

As always when it comes to poker I'm a day late and a dollar short. I thought it might be an older episode. I'm trying to decide which is more annoying - Kahn and his dance or Brenes and his shark!

So tomorrow night Im trying out a new tourney at Lottery Larry of 2+2's house in Downingtown. 3 tabels to winner in 4 hours so it should be similar to a turbo tourney or riverchasers- controlled aggression is the way to go I guess.

if it's rebuy you might as well be super aggro early on

I've either become a more saavy consumer of TV poker with HSP and Poker After Dark, or else the WSOP coverage sucks.

I was catching cards early- in 40 hands I had aces once, Kings twice, queens once, jacks 3 times and big slick twice

28 players- no addons or rebuys 50 dollar entry

at the final table we all were short stacked with about 18K a piece with blinds at 1/2K going up to 2/4 soon and I started making Harrington moves and having people fold to my all ins. I was UTG with 7's move all in and get called by 2 people who both had AK and they missed so then I was a dominating stack and started to pick people off rather easily and was catching cards (yet again baby pairs hitting sets at the right time).

as people got knocked out they played side cash games- Lots of nice people- level of play was better than our group as they werent any obvious donks except one guy at my table. (who lives in our area and may come to our octiber tourney- hehehe)

nice, tell him to invite all his friends

anybody watch any poker after dark this week? it was really non-stop chater with the lineup of TV poker guys they had(Negreanu, Hellmuth, Laak, Esfandiari, Sheikhan(pre-arrest), and Matusow. Last week's was probably better for the poker but this was fun to watch.

Final table 10 handed- NLHE home tourney- pay out to 6

Blinds 5/10K

UTG (175K stack) limps (tag -player)
UTG+1 (80K) limps (tight passive player)

a few middle positions fold

MP- (120K) raises to 40K (unknown player)
CU -(280K, chip leader) calls (lag player)

B- Hero (175K) has K:s: K:h:

SB: (100K)
BB: (200K) are both still left to act

Should hero-

a) call
b) fold
c) reraise to 80K
d) reraise to 120K
e) go all in

I would reraise allin, no questions asked. it's no time to get cute. 95K is in the pot, 2 people are still to act with two in the hand already and you may get a caller who thinks you are trying to steal from teh button. Calling is a horrible option here, IMO. You are hoping an ace doesn't hit? 175K reraise allin makes the pot 270, 175k to call, but the originally raiser has only 80k. This is a hand where all hte money gets in the middle, it may as well be right away.

Is there really somehow another way to play this? Are peopel really going to fold an 80k bet postflop, even if an ace is out there? CU's range is pretty high and is probably looking to see a flop. Knock him out with the allin reraise, if it's possible. 115k to call 350 may not knock him out, but it *could* knock some out, and you are probably ahead anyway.

I agree completely- hero was my brother at the donkament on Friday

he went all in, the blinds and limpers folded, the original raiser called and the chip leader folded (which I argue is a bad fold for the pot odds).

Original raiser had aces and Duane was sent home in 10th. I told him he done nothing wrong- I think he was trying to disguise a woe is me story....

stuff happens, he seriously can't be upset with his play. that's just bad luck, it happens to everyone. he made a good move in a good spot and just ran into a better hand

and if the CL had anything from 88-aq it's a pretty bad fold IMO. over 3 to 1 to get two allins?

hah, look at my 2nd paragraph added to that post. it knocked someone off their hand...i can't believe a CL would fold there, what was he expecting to do postflop if the small stack went allin on the flop? hoping to hit? these aren't big blinds we are playing with here, CLs should be willing to reraise allin with less than aa or kk, ESPECIALLY if they have a drawing hand. Doing a stop and fold on the flop with a hand like aq or aj is just ridiculous when you can see the turna nd river if you push preflop

that CL played very bad, ESPECIALLY with 3 people left to act. He had NO plan that hand. I'll bet he won

Duane commented that the CL said he wouldve just missed his heart flush (meaning he had 2 suited cards) Duane thinks he had something like Q:h:J:h: so the guy's a donk in the 1st place.
