It’s a 5th round pick. There’s only one in recent memory that has done anything for the Flyers. Center is thin in FA and we need one badly.

I know it’s a nothing pick. I’m just irritated that we probably have to severely overpay now for a good but not great player. The flyers way.

i'm sure he'll sign. the jets reportedly let them talk to his agent and they were very close in aav which is why they made the trade.

yeah he's a fa. traded for him so only they can negotiate with him until free agency opens. did that with a few others. signed timonen and hartnell that way. traded kevin bieska again when he didn't sign with them.

Well, at least the Flyers hired Mike Yeo........the guy who coached the current Stanley Cup champs to the worst record in the league 7 months ago!

I realize that Berube is the HC and most people will give him credit for masterminding the victory. However what won for the Blues was their defense and Larry Robinson coaches that. His defensive schemes and the Bruins inability to handle the Blues forecheck determined the winner of the series.

Couple of ramblings I was thinking about

From 95-2010 (15 seasons minus the lockout), Flyers made the conference final 6 times. They were an NHL final four team 40% of the time.

Nowadays the flyers are 8-16 in their last 24 playoff games, two playoff series wins since the Cup loss.

The decline is crazy. We were the fun splashy team that tried to win every year and almost did a couple of times.

I honestly don’t know how quickly this can be fixed or even if the organization just says fuck it and starts trading all these prospects. Feels like the latter with the Hayes thing being the start

You have to remember for most of that 15 years there wasn't the salary cap they have now.

Yeah you’re right. It sucks. I basically grew up during a time when this team was competing for the cup all the time and now all of our players win cups for other teams

The Flyers had unlimited resources in the 90's and Clarke still couldn't get the job done. You can't compare it to now as the playing field is leveled with the cap.

Initial reaction is meh.. he'll probably be in our top 4, but I don't know if he solves our problems. Hopefully Ghost, Sanheim, and Provorov can step it up.
