I tend to fall on the same traditionalist side as you, but i think this is the way it has to go. With every fan in the stands and at home thinking they can see a ball or strike on their phones, it harms the appearance of integrity of the game for the only person without that information to be teh one making the decision. Baseball already has enough problems in that area-if you can tamp down one of them I think you have to.
And having a consistent strike zone should eventually be a big plus. I think more for hitters, but we'll see.
The change of moving the pitching rubber discussed is just goofy. I do the like the checked swing rule. A swing is defined as an attempt to make contact with the ball, If you changed your mind before the ball reached the plate and didn't do that, i don't care if you broke your wrists or the bat head crossed the plate or whatever, it shouldn't be called a swing.
