Here's a list of players who have died during their careers. Not surprised to see so many car accidents because cars are dangerous as hell, but was surprised to see so many plane accidents. Also a lot of drownings and boat accidents. Somehow I never knew that Ed Delahanty died going over Niagra Falls. Then of course things like tuberculosis, which is less surprising with the old-timers.

– Pitchers will now be required to step off of the rubber when attempting a pick-off.

– One foul bunt with two strikes is permitted before a strikeout is called.

– Batters are allowed to “steal” first base on any pitch not caught in flight…in short, the “dropped third strike” rule extends to the entire at-bat.

– The check swing rule becomes more “batter friendly.”
