Tampa is a big TV market and the stadium lease is punishing to break.

This ain’t ending anytime soon, and it is a crying shame. Whenever it finally does shake out, I think Montreal is in the mix somehow, either as new home to the Rays or else an expansion team.

Putting in Martin as a defensive sub for Luzinski was normal. Martin was a pretty good OFer. Luzinski ws really bad. I Remember being shocked Luzinski was out there. Ozark was a poor manager.

I've heard Charlotte mentioned as a possibility. But if they go somewhere west, there will need to be realignment.

Charlotte would suck.

Charlotte wouldn't do any better than Tampa or Cleveland. A lot of Braves fans there.

Or Puerto Rico. Invest some money back down there. Fans would be lit if team gets good, fan interest would be higher than US cities

So annoyed about the Bell emergence. I thought he was going to break out last year and kept him on my fantasy teams for most of the year, but finally gave up on him. Now he's Lou Gehrig.

Same thing happened with Encarnacion when he came up with the Reds at 3B. I thought for sure he was going to be a monster and drafted him for several years before giving up on him right before he broke out. I ended up getting him eventually for pretty cheap and had him a long time, but I missed out on a few of his best years.

Don’t really consider it an “eastern” city. Midwest.

Ohio is the first state as you go west in the Midwest as it is defined.

I think an eventual geographic realignment is coming to baseball that would group Cleveland in with Pittsburgh, Detroit, and Cincinnati.

Assuming Cleveland continues to be home to a MLB franchise that is.

Anyway I think if Tampa moves it will be to Nashville.

Domingo Santana is having a solid season with Seattle, but Hunter Pence is having a better season than anyone else involved in the Phillies-Astros trade, and is the only other one apparently still in pro ball.

Pence too much to ask for as the RH bench bat? His defense is better than Bruce’s at this point I imagine?

Do the Phillies ball girls wear the Kazoo batting helmets? Just noticed in tonight's game the Padres' do, and they look even dumber on them than on the players.
they were a chick hanging out with her friends at a bar, the Phillies would be the 320 lb chick with a nose wart and a dick - Trent Steele

In looking for a picture for the FEAR thread, I noticed the batting helmet from the 1970-1991 uniforms is quite a bit redder than it ever seems to be when they wear it as a retro uniform

I was pretty young for the end of those unis but is that how people remember them?

Yeah, pretty much remember at least in the 70s the batting helmets were just red, whatever the unis.

Now, by the time of Schmidt's 500th, they were definitely more of a similar maroon color.

I guess it depends on what era they're focusing on.

Interesting that they've chosen to throw back to the, uh, storied late 80s period of Phillies history

The chargers powder blue unis are not from an iconic era, they’re just great. Same with those blue/maroon Phillies ones.

Sure, but I meant the earlier ones were though and they're basically the same other than being a brighter red
