Jimmy was the man behind removing the kid?

From the Chicago Tribune today too...

Eaton, who had a spring training locker next to Drake, was a vocal member of Team LaRoche, along with Sale and a few other players.

Frazier was considered part of Team Rollins. Former shortstop Jimmy Rollins, who joined the Sox that spring, allegedly was the player who complained to management about the absurdity of a teenager being treated like a major-league player.

Orioles became the fastest team to allow 100 home runs last night. They follow that up by allowing 5 more in 6 innings so far to the Yankees.

Angels rare postponed game today. It is only the third postponement at Angel Stadium since 1995 and the 12th since the stadium opened in 1966. The most recent postponement occurred on July 19, 2015, against the Boston Red Sox.

Velocity is strangling baseball - and its grip keeps tightening

Did not realize that strikeouts outpaced hits for the first time ever last season. League wide k rate was higher than Clemens' career rate.

Really good read, thanks for posting. Hope they can figure out how to fix it because this version of baseball is brutal.

What Boston fans did to that guy was embarrassing. The fact that they waited until after they won 2 World Series to invite him back and "forgive" him was a disgrace. "Hey now that we've won a few, you're good" is bullshit.

Trying to think of Philly equivalents...

I was too young to remember the initial reaction to Mitch Williams but he never felt like he was disowned here by any stretch (until, well, later, for different reasons).

McNabb's taken a lot of grief over puking in the huddle in the Super Bowl, I guess. Hamels was bad in the 2009 playoffs / series but that's a footniote on his career here at most. Leighton sucked in the 2010 Finals but the fact that he even got them there eclipses that.

As much shit as Philadelphia fans get, we appreciate those who do right by us over the long term.

I remember watching an interview with Buckner a few years back where the interviewer asked him something like “How do you feel now that the Boston fans have forgiven you?”. Buckner was (quite understandably) a bit indignant about it. I think most people don’t even realize that that game was not even the end of the series. Would suck to have a solid 22 year career in the majors reduced to one bad moment, but such is the life of a scapegoat.
