I don’t buy it... well at least not the Francis part. Wasn’t his time in Carolina basically the same plan Hextall had here. Slow rebuild, not many big signings or trades, etc. Why even fire Hextall if that’s your replacement target

Maybe he is obedient? Guessing Homer and the ownership wants someone who will follow their orders.

#Flyers fans have been critical of the so-called "faceless corporate overlord" running team since Ed Snider's passing. It's my understanding that Comcast Spectacor CEO Dave Scott played a central role in Hextall's ouster, wasn't just rubber stamping a Holmgren decision.

dreger's just a mouth piece for some execs. would doubt those guys are in play.

That's fucking awful. He butchered the Richards and Voynov situations so badly in LA, proving he was a dinosaur. He was successful, but he's past his prime now.

I know Hextall had loyalty to Hakstol, but have to think it was more than saying No to firing him.

Just hope they don't bring in a familiar GM, that hires someone like Quenneville and they trade the young guys to get some vets to make a push this season.

I wouldn't mind Quenneville but I don't want them to go for it, but being 5 points out of the wildcard in November when this move happens makes me think they want to go for it.
