If I'm reading thiscorrectly, Cal State Fullterton has 14 homers, total, as a team, this season. In 61 games. Is this a "park effect" or a team philosophy thing or just a lack of power?

Almaraz says that they are sending Bohm to Clearwater for a short stint at GCL before Williamsport and then maybe to Lakewood.

Think they are the classic "everybody bunts, put pressure on college IFs and make other team throw the ball around" team strategy. Almost softball type strategy

Terry Jones, 4th round pick of the Phillies in 2001, is Pipkin's advisor. I remember people thinking he'd be a black Chipper Jones. Feels like we've spent a lot of top 5 round picks on 3B since 2000 that have all busted badly. Travis Mattair, Kiel Fisher, Harold Martinez and of course Anthony Hewitt to name just a few.

Prematurely negative comment at this point but hope we don't look back at this draft and say, should of drafted India as the 3B. Something rubs me the wrong way re bohm not getting drafted out of HS but he definitely has the cape/jr year production to justify the pick. 30 bombs and a 10% BB rate with him not being a butcher at 3B, I'm happy w the pick ultimately

The hype is on for Bohm as our 3B of the future. Although there is a lot of jangle about him being able to play the position at the big show, some of the descriptions in the pre-draft scouting give me doubt. I will gladly be wrong. Maybe it is super magnified by having the best third baseman ever to play the game.

9th round slot was $153,600 and 6th round $292,700, so we can thank Bohm for helping make up the difference.
