#4 Eastman's CS Fullerton team was eliminated from the College World Series last night. If South Carolina loses tonight, all our draft picks will be eligible to sign

About 100K below the slot value for the #5 overall pick and 325K more than the slot value for the #6 pick.

Oh my, are they going to sign 36 of 38 guys drafted? That percentage would have to be at least a Phillies record.

he was their guy for the last few months. real nice job leaking info and creating a slide for him in most mocks if they passed.

This is the strangest pick to me. It was my least favorite at the time but is definitely growing on me. He was not ranked by anyone. In fact, he was the only guy chosen in the first 5 rounds Baseball America didn't have a scouting report on. He was performing well at Notre Dame not some DIII school. Now, Law comes out with a glowing report and even Callis says "Notre Dame OF, chance for avg or better tools across the board, showed a low-90s fastball when he pitched for the Irish." Also, he'll apparently be starting in Lakewood which is super rare for the Phillies to do. Feel like he could be a steal.

Where did you see that he might start at Lakewood? That's interesting. Though not crazy since there has been absolutely zero talk of Muzzioti or Matos being close to return from injury.

June 7th article by Matt Breen:

"Vierling is not as polished as Bohm, but he increased his walk rate and lowered his strikeout rate this season at Notre Dame. He impressed the Phillies enough last week in a workout at Citizens Bank Park that they labeled him a quick mover. He will start at Lakewood."

I'm glad they speared him and threw in all the chips. This could be a really big dill if he doesn't give them a reason to sour on him.
