Kind of nervous it doesn't seem like it's happening today.
Two days later I get a text back that says I'm a basketball player and a businessman, not a Thundercat.

Any chance Sixers are afraid to piss of the Colangelo family? Does Jerry still have influence in the league?

Any chance that the reason that they haven't jettisoned Colangelo yet is that they want to be able to have his replacement signed, sealed and delivered? Perhaps Harris holds a presser where he announces that Collars has been terminated and then introduces his replacement. That would seal the entire deal with the Sixers being able move on to the draft; then the FA period at the end of the month and Silver/the NBA can refocus on the championship series.

God I would hope not. They need a more thorough search this time around. Think it would have leaked if they were interviewing people. I guess if it was an internal promotion it could happen but I would rather they do a full search.

The draft is in 20 days and free agency starts in a month. I hope they conduct a thorough external search but it's going to be difficult to do so and have someone in power with enough time to make any informed decisions. I'd guess they promote Marc Eversley or Ned Cohen on an interim basis.

I think the replacement would object to that

The new guy is just going to have to rely on the scouting department for the draft. I don't think this draft is a good reason to rush a replacement.

WTF?

Colangelo’s job is on the line, especially given the ownership group’s desire to keep internal team information as private as possible. At least one high-ranking Sixers official is fighting for Colangelo’s job, a person familiar with details told USA TODAY Sports.

I wonder if that high-ranking official has the initials JC and is the special advisor to the managing general partner.

Conspiracy theory: Does anyone think it's possible that Silver is pushing the Sixers to not fire BC?
"I would have liked to have had that chance. Just once. To stare down a big league pitcher. To stare him down, and just as he goes into his windup, wink."

I can definitely see a fear of making such a significant move based on internet rabble; sets bad precedent
