He must be part of the 4% on realgm. As for the other 96% of that highly scientific poll, I’d wager 110% of that group would have fired Colangelo the day before he was hired. Colangelo could cure cancer, bring world peace and guide the franchise to 10 championships in a row and they’d still never forgive him for Hinkie’s resignation and how he got the job. This episode is just a very convenient hook on which to hang outrage.
As little as many think of Colangelo I guarantee Harris holds him in higher regard and as much as the pitchfork crowd wants him dead and buried I can also guarantee that Harris will feel bad about the guy’s career even if he fires him.
Me? I’m just tired of the whole tawdry affair. I love the Sixers and always will. If, in Harris’ judgment, the franchise is better off with Colangelo gone, I’m fine with that. And, although I may be in a minority of one, if Harris reviews all the facts and decides to keep him, I’m fine with that, too. As bad as this episode may be it’s not like the guy was killing babies. If his career is ruined, I won’t cry. Actions have consequences. But if he survives I’ll root for him to do well for the sake of the franchise.
