Withholding/refusing to admit material information like that would seem to impact the investigation. Who knows what else he's hiding.
Two days later I get a text back that says I'm a basketball player and a businessman, not a Thundercat.

It's going down today. They had to give the appearance of a "thorough" investigation while negotiating the terms of his resignation/termination. I say late afternoon, early evening to give this a full day for people to rejoice and claim their pound of flesh before game 2 comes on the air.

Seeing anecdotes of people the confirmed BC account followed after they had interacted with other burners

He must be part of the 4% on realgm. As for the other 96% of that highly scientific poll, I’d wager 110% of that group would have fired Colangelo the day before he was hired. Colangelo could cure cancer, bring world peace and guide the franchise to 10 championships in a row and they’d still never forgive him for Hinkie’s resignation and how he got the job. This episode is just a very convenient hook on which to hang outrage.

As little as many think of Colangelo I guarantee Harris holds him in higher regard and as much as the pitchfork crowd wants him dead and buried I can also guarantee that Harris will feel bad about the guy’s career even if he fires him.

Me? I’m just tired of the whole tawdry affair. I love the Sixers and always will. If, in Harris’ judgment, the franchise is better off with Colangelo gone, I’m fine with that. And, although I may be in a minority of one, if Harris reviews all the facts and decides to keep him, I’m fine with that, too. As bad as this episode may be it’s not like the guy was killing babies. If his career is ruined, I won’t cry. Actions have consequences. But if he survives I’ll root for him to do well for the sake of the franchise.

Pompey made a good point on 94 WIP. Not only do you have concern over whether players can trust Colangelo but if he remained, other teams will constantly use that against him and the organization in free agent negotiations. Would you really want to go play in Philadelphia for that guy? You can't trust him, etc.

I already said I'm hoping he stays just bc that would mean Harris concluded it's acceptable from a business standpoint. Signing LeBron is probably more important for bottom line in a vacuum than even winning the ship. We've seen the studies on LeBron's impact on Cleveland franchise value. Harris is not dumb, knows that and is going to do whatever he think gives them the best chance to get the guy I believe

If LeBron or anyone else views the Sixers as the best destination for his career he's going to sign on the dotted line, smile for a picture and shake Colangelo's hand, cash his paychecks and go out and play. The only trust they need from a GM is that the check won't bounce.

Yeah I am sure a guy like LeBron would like personal details of his relationship with the team leaked out to the public.

I don't believe this for a second. They may not walk around thinking about the GM, but that's the point. They don't want to. Stuff like this gives them a reason to. To have this type of back channel shit going on, it's one more thing to deal with. Every organization has its dysfunction, but the moment it's public, that introduces a completely different dynamic.

Thanks to a number of factors (social media and endorsements) players are more in charge of their image than ever before and they take themselves more seriously. They stand (or kneel) for things publicly. It's never been a better time to be a professional athlete who wants to have influence beyond the game. The days of "just smile, shakes hands, and go play" are largely over.

With Colangelo already being perceived as dishonest and shady at least I can now understand why Redick, Amir, Belinelli, Ilyasova, Henderson, Bayless and Sergio didn’t want to sign here and why JoJo and RoCo refused to extend their contracts.

He was perceived as shady and dishonest, now there is proof to back it up. Changes a lot of things with players being able to trust him.
