Embiid is embiid, has been cleared for b2bs and has been paid, collars really not a big factor in his day to day life anymore other than how he does filling out rest of the roster and keeping the cooking staff on payroll

You realize this could easily go from very embarrassing to unmitigated disaster if they clean house in FO without a replacement plan in place 36 or whatever days before crucially important FA

I'm sure we'll hear more from connected ppl over the coming days that could soothe my anxiety re transition but i shouldn't have to spell this out

Also all of you (except me and a few others) absolutely despised okafor and said far worse shit on the reg about him anonymously on the internet

unless you had access to his medicals and leaked information about them, none of us care what you said about okafor (who does, in fact, suck).

this isn't about namecalling on the internet, this is a guy who is waging petty, subversive campaigns AGAINST HIS OWN PLAYERS under 5 different pseudonyms. it take a special kind of scumbag to pursue that type of strategy. if you want that guy to lead your offseason because it's "too hard" to find someone else, more power to you, but it's just as irresponsible to keep him around (and what, can him just after FA season? commit to him for the length of his contract?)

also, not sure you need to "clean house". i guess you run the risk of offending colangelo loyalists, but you might also have folks that still want to do their jobs.

you can't see how to fire him and steady the ship. i can't see how it don't become unworkable (in the thick of FA) if you try to keep him.

Separate for this fucking collar debacle, I'm fine w Brett extension. I've never been sentimental about keeping him around just because he had to suffer through a lot of szns where he was given no chance, but he showed a lot this year in terms of an establishing an identity as a team/offensive system. And also committing to playing Simmons as lead ball handler from the start may seem obvious now but was a pretty ballsy call

Lol @ waging campaigns. He's talking shit anonymously (he thinks) on the internet like we all do. Probably after a few barolos. He's not al Qaeda or really trying to influence ppl at all (likely the exact opposite as he'd want to avoid the exact situation that happened now)

Well all that anonymous shit talk on social media never comes out, so no problem there i guess. not like the players, players union, and potential free agents would ever hear about it.

His father's not on staff anymore, he's only a "special advisor". Neither of us know what that actually means, but firing 1 exec and 1 guy on the phone isn't cleaning house. maybe that's just my opinion.

i'd like to think this franchise can survive without bryan fucking colangelo and his sterling reputation, but maybe this is the beginning of the end unless he decides to stay and save us. i'm sure he'll be able to look the players in the eye and continue not being available to the media.
