a small amount of water entering the trachea causes a muscular spasm that seals the airway and prevents the passage of both air and water until unconsciousness occurs.

Many accidents around here over the years with people diving off of boats and hitting the bottom head first.

Yeah splash wise that is true but the JVR signing was definitely a big one especially with the contract he got.
