think he'll be fine. but this reminds me of that dirty as hell hit in the playoffs where a pens player swept his legs and it wasn't called.

Well recovery time can be 6 weeks and the season is 6 weeks away so he might miss some time.

There is no reason to rush, and it has to be a little concerning that he hurt the same injury on a non contact play doing a routine move.

Not to sound too alarmist but that is a lot concerning.

you know it’s not good when the injury news comes out before he plays a bunch of games and that’s when they tell you he’s been playing hurt for a while

Hextall says out 4 weeks, same knee but not the exact same injury.

538 article:

For fans seeking long-term mediocrity, the Philadelphia Flyers might be a good option, having finished with between 39 and 42 wins in four of their last five seasons. (And in the one season they didn’t, they still racked up points for a league-leading 18 overtime losses, which could easily have turned into ties — aka the best possible outcome for fans of .500 play — under the NHL’s old standings system.) According to our algorithm, no team in major pro sports has been more consistently mediocre over the past five seasons than the Flyers, although they narrowly edged out the NBA’s Washington Wizards — another great pick if you want to watch dependably so-so basketball.

A perfect summation of Ron Hextall hockey.

At least they have a top 5 farm system, if not top 3.

Not sure if you guys noticed on the pics of the ice being painted yesterday, but ads in the corners is a new thing in the NHL this year

I guess I'm in the minority because I'm actually pretty optimistic on the Flyers. Coots, Konecny, Patrick, Ghost and Provorov are all under 25. Keeping Giroux at wing should squeeze more production out of him before he drops off. Van Riemsdyk was actually one of the better FAs available and we didn't sign our usual crop of Dale Wiese types. Just hope they let Hagg and Sanheim play. Have a top 3 farm system.

Plus Morgan Frost and Carter Hart aren't far away

hart is the x-factor. if he comes up and is legit, the flyers will have a chance. if not, same shit, different day. business as usual for the last 25 years.

If Hart falters, Felix Sandstrom is in the wings.
