Or he can work with Wentz and under Doug who seems like the ideal boss/leader and he’d be a hot hire for a head coach position soon.

This.

It worked for Reich, if he gets the Colts job.

I agree and would be upset if he leaves, but also wouldn’t be shocked if he does

I don't know where I saw it but the Vikings supposedly can't interview him until 2/14, so they may not even get a chance to tell him that stuff.

I've really just wanted to enjoy this window for a few days without getting to "so, what about next year..." but since so many topics are being broached already:

~ coaches and front office -

I hope they can keep this group together a little longer. It's only 2 years together. I hope they all enjoy the culture and the success that personal ambitions can be put on hold and they just stay together - maybe if there is one good thing in seeing Josh Mcdaniels reneg and stay in NE, is that it indicates that sometimes its better to stay with the stud QB and great org? If Difilipo has the better mind and better rapport with Wentz, then keep him and move him up the chain when Reich gets his offer. But for now - keep em all.

I'm also wondering if their could be a D coach some day who could have better handled Brady in that situation? Is Schwartz the best D coordinator out there? He's been great - since Jim Johnson - best we've had no doubt. Billy Davis ugh... but I still feel like he may not be the absolute best out there?

For now, bring em all back. Cue it up again - and make another run. I thought 2018 would be our first viable year to be in the mix and that 2019 and 2020 would be SB options - let's make it so that another one of these years in next 2-3 is a 2nd title. We have to close the gap on our division foes.

~ Foles.

If he's willing to go back to his old role - and he and Wentz are buddies - keep him. I know it's all about assets and leveraging and we're short on draft picks - but he somehow seems to do well here - and it's insurance. Not only do we not know when or if Wentz will be back at full strength, what if he went down again? Concussion out for 3 weeks. Twisted ankle out for 2 weeks. We're not going to find a better back-up. Obviously, if Nick humbly requests a chance to start in Denver or Arizona where he has ties - can't hold him back - but I have zero confidence Wentz is Wentz on Game 1. Next year the pressure will be large. We play a 1st place schedule and finally have to do the London thing... ugh (i'll be up at 5-6am for that one)

~ cap issues

Hopefully JP would be willing to renegotiate to team advantage in terms of cap. I'd like to keep him if he's fully ready to go. I think 80% JP is better than most - he's a freak athlete and locker-room leader. I'd like him to get a shot to come back, same with Sproles though with Clement now - not sure his role really? Again, the $$ have to count.

The only guys I'm sure will be gone - are Celek and Torrey Smith, though if Burton gets a big FA deal, then maybe Celek comes back on a cheaper deal? Torrey wasn't very good - and thank you for the plays you did make and your service, but he was not the deep threat nor sure-handed. Even if Mack isn't good enough to take over, someone out there will be an upgrade for cheaper.

Not sure about Vinny Curry? He still played a lot of snaps and he and Kendricks I guess got pretty good deals, but not sure how much you save versus the cost to replace. It's not like there's another LB or DE pushing to take their snaps. Barnett was rotation, not clear upgrade. Chris Long made some of the biggest plays.

I'd luv to see Long and Blount get one more tour as an Eagle - but we won't be able to keep everyone. I thought Blount allowed Ajayi to be more effective - the 3 headed monster was better than relying on one guy. Kept egos low and guys fresh - and if one guy wasn't having a good day the other could

~ draft

best player available, if there are a bunch of a similar level - take a stud LB. We just don't have the depth - and we struggle covering beast mode TEs, a proper LB could help mitigate that - Hicks hopefully is back and Bradam - whether Kendricks is out or not, it's a position we need more talent and depth.

~ FA

I see someone in for Torrey. Not sure what else? We could almost go to war with our same roster - Sid Jones starting perhaps, Hicks back, Barnett with a year of experience, Foles tuned in to system... we should be able if healthy to win 11-12 games again and make another run with most of the same guys... but who knows... we're missing picks and not a lot of cap -- but maybe that's ok because we have a great team now?!

The future feels bright - and as long as Wentz is back and stays healthy, I don't think he's even gotten as good as he can get. He could become a Brady/Brees/Peyton level QB - and the rest of the cast will change over the years - but he could give us multiple chances.

Sometimes I wonder how a team can overcome very obvious racial and social divisions to play so well and get along so well. There are very obvious social differences between these white born-again Christian players and the African American #blacklivesmatter players. I'm sure this is an issue on many NFL teams. Wentz is going to speak at the National Prayer Breakfast tomorrow in place of Pence and will probably go to the White House.

Go read Torrey Smiths Twitter. His love and admiration and respect of wentz is widely documented.

I think he’s simply beloved by all.
On a scale of 1 to Chris Brown, how pissed is he?

It's almost like for a majority of people someone's race, religion, and social status aren't really that important.

Every NFL team is going to have those kinds of divisions given the backgrounds that most players tend to come from. It’s up to the coaches to make sure everything stays harmonious, and ours did a spectacular job of that. It also helps that our team leaders are the kind of people who don’t allow bad juju to fester.

Contrast this to the Raiders, where Jack Del Rio was very open about his support of Trump, favored the very religious players such as Carr and Cooper over the others, and lost much of the team in the process.

Lurie/Pederson and the Eagles leaders like Jenkins and Long and Wentz were probably the best in the league at getting past the divisions that are occurring.

Apparently they did.

The Eagles are making the Vikings wait until next week to interview quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo. Unless they aren’t.

Adam Caplan of SiriusXM reports that the Vikings will interview DeFilippo for the still-vacant offensive coordinator position on Thursday. Adam Schefter of ESPN previously reported that the interview wouldn’t happen until next week.

The interview comes at a time when Eagles offensive coordinator Frank Reich has emerged on the short list of candidates to become the Plan B head coach in Indy. The Eagles surely would like to promote DeFilippo to Reich’s position, if Reich leaves for Indy.

That said, the Vikings job could be more attractive to DeFilippo, because he’d have the keys to the offense in Minnesota. In Philly, he’d be working under coach Doug Pederson, an offensive specialist who calls the plays.
