Win one game and then you are hosting an opportunity to play in the super bowl. Would like that

Pretty good list, but up high I would add the Bradford re-signing, for which he took a lot of dumb shit

I can see us giving up a lot of big plays, but holding them to field goals and winning an ugly game 17-10 or 24-17.

Heck, I've even convinced myself that we could get into a slogfest against the Vikings and win that game too. The Saints and the Rams were the only two teams that truly terrified me.

Swapped third-round picks with Baltimore in exchange for DT Tim Jernigan

Forgot this was all it took to get Timmy, just moving down in the third round. That’s amazing

And when Chris Long and Patrick Robinson are all the way down at Nos. 9-10 on the list, that's some damn fine transacting by Howie in just 2 years

it's a unique situation. the only time in recent memory the birds went in to a playoff game with a backup was Jeff Garcia - and he was a guy with a pedigree and who could move.

nick foles is what he is. he's tall and he can at times pass the ball reasonably well. but he's immobile and the only QBs that don't use their legs much and succeed are gun-slingers. quick releases, good at stepping up in pocket fearless -

the giant game w 4tds was impressive. the raider game and 1-2 drives dal - not so much.

we don't know what they've devised with all this time to think about it? he's gotten more reps. in theory guys are more rested and healthy. i expect tremendous pressure on nicky and a lot of blitzes and he will have to demonstrate he can read it and handle it - and burn them to make it stop. can we run? maybe. not at first when they bring 8 in the box and say - go ahead and try.

this requires a really good opening game plan that keeps the d off balance and doing some things they haven't seen on tape before.

individual guys have to make plays. ajayi breaks a tackle. alshon snags a tough ball.

the rest has been stated - d has to play well, low penalties, no turnovers and no st gaffes.

we beat Atl last year btw. And they are on a roll but as others have noted - they are not a top to bottom powerhouse and not as good overall as a team as last year. we can end their season in cold philly if we're ready to play and nicky just does enough.

we can eval the following week - depending on what happened in the other game and who is coming in? Nola is scary as that offense is hard to stop. I liked Carson to win a shootout w Brees - but our D would have to really step up. Carolina did a great job killing Ingram and Kamara. But Brees just went off with 4 TD passes and his accuracy is still phenomenal - Minn D is really playing well and so while Keenum Latavius and the gang aren't the 2nd coming of 98 Vikings - they can score.

we have won a lot of our games this year with Carson and offense. Nick will have to do some things. Some dream of a game manager and ball control like it's the 70's and we just rush with Csonka or Riggins all day is not gonna fly. Have to be able to convert 3rd downs, have to be able to effectively pass, play action and beat the blitz.

same for following two games if we get there --

Atlanta is riding high w confidence but sports and NFL is a funny thing - and you can kill a teams sense of themselves if you have success early. execution baby. I know Doug will have a starting game plan and they need to score a TD early first or 2nd drive. And then hopefully D can force a turnover - get another quick score. Things shift if we're up 10 or 14 to 0 by end of 1st quarter. I don't like our chances playing with a deficit in the middle to late 3rd quarter. down 20-10 with 4minutes int he 3rd is not game over - but not a good position to be in.

Patrick Robinson is one of the all time unexpected amazing signings. This dude sucked last year. Now he's the man

Bill Vinovich is the head ref for the game

Only eagles game he did was the SNF at Dallas this year, was the ref for the Falcons nfc title game last year

Truth. This has the chance to be his Deer Hunter

I will say this: Doug is easily my favorite Eagles coach of all-time, and I know it is early in his career. There is just something about him - he seems like a winner. Love his whole demeanor out there, very calming presence on the sideline. Seems like he is in charge, but not at all overbearing. Just really impressed all around.

Eagles aren't going to be within 2 touchdowns on Saturday.

All this false hope about Foles not looking like the turd sandwich he has been the last few weeks.

Goodluck, already booked a tee time.

Hmmm. I am going to follow that up with this, I think, underrated ass-kicking of Dallas for the division title in 2006 on Christmas Day, especially when one recalls that this was the third of three consecutive road games against divisional opponents, which the Eagles swept:

That 44-6 game gets all the love, but pound for pound I will take this run-heavy 23-7 demolition of the Cowboys in Dallas on Christmas every time.

Matt Ryan was not at practice with the falcons yesterday. Has left the team for a personal matter.
