I guess they might have known he had no intentions to sign with them. Seems like a pointless trade all around.

flyers protected list must be submitted by 5pm. we'll find out who is on it tomorrow around 10am. then we'll find out who's gone wednesday night. should be a fun week before the draft.

frees up some cap space, if madsen wasn't going to sign it's better to draft a goalie who is two or three years earlier in the developmental pipeline. neither is too big, mind you, but not in my view pointless.

Not really, maybe laughton over Peb.

Are they just not too interested in bringing Weal back? I guess that's the case. The depth is evident up front after all, particularly adding Nico or Patrick. Hexy must like Laughton as a 4th line C.

Also loose rumors of a handshake deal w/ Weal.. we won't protect you and if you go unpicked we will lock you up. I don't know. I'm just glad there are no negative surprises (not that MacDonald will be picked)

They basically told him to go spend a year in the AHL and get better on defense. From all accounts he did. He just turned 23 and I think he could start the year as the 4C. He might end up still being a bust but I could care less losing any of the unprotected forwards.

I'd give Vegas 2 of our 3rds to take AMac. Or maybe a 2nd and a 3rd for them taking AMac plus Petr Mrázek. I can't believe the Wings protected Howard over him after one bad year.

Vegas is stock piling picks to not take or to make sure they take a specific player in the expansion draft. Wonder what it would take to get rid of Amac.

They are speculating Vegas may take up to 7 Goalies.

Not a huge surprise with how crowded roster is, but #Flyers no longer on Spencer Foo's list, I'm told.

Darren Dreger saying Nico likely to Devils so Nolan Patrick would go to Flyers. Fits what Hextall wants better based on his talk with John Boruk.

I kinda like Nico better. More of a GET OMG GOALS guy
