#7 is Pittsburgh, whose top 5 is Glasnow/Meadows/Bell/M.Keller/K.Newman (all in the top 60 overall)

An interesting article throwing some cold water on Rockies top prospect.

Someone explain the prohibition on the use of markers creating a tangible reference system for fielders

Probably can't put pins or paint on the ground for positioning players.

Ah for positioning, makes sense now. I was thinking for the fielders to use in reference when tracking a fly or some such.

MLB's last four minor league systems will be revealed today.

Padres are #4 (Margot/A.Espinoza/Renfroe/Quantrill/A.Morejon, the first three are in the top 42)

i'm curious on these rankings historically starting maybe 2-3 years back and seeing if there is a correlation between top farm systems equating with team success, i.e. who was #1 in 2013 and have they won a WS?

i have to think the cubs had to have a high level one a few years ago and so they have that going for them...

Checked 2013 and BA had the Cubs #13, with Baez/Almora/Soler/Vizcaino/Brett Jackson as the top 5. The top systems around that time were St. Louis, Texas, Seattle, Tampa Bay and Miami, with Boston hovering around. The Phils were in the 20s and their top five was Biddle/Quinn/Joseph/Pettibone/Morgan. Yikes

Entire article is fun read, but a gem at the bottom:

Last season was Wainwright's first full year since tearing his Achilles tendon in 2015. He struggled with the feel of what was once a devastating curveball. He went 13-9 after posting 39 wins over the previous two seasons.

This week, after watching his own instructional internet video on how to throw a curve, Wainwright realized his grip had shifted slightly. The old grip brought back the old hook.

That's a cool article, but 2016 was his first full season since tearing his Achilles in 2015? Today is my first day at work since leaving the office on Thursday.

What's the cutoff for a prospect? Swanson started 36 games, had 145 PA, and isn't a rookie this year. And he's a fucking Brave.
