IIRC when we drafted Gose we were more interested in him as a pitcher, but he said he would only sign as a hitter, so we let him be a hitter.

I think he was hurt too and didn't pitch much, if at all, his senior year.

indians radio announcers brought chernoff's young son into the booth for the ninth, asking him random things like who his favorite player is. they talk about encarnaccion and he says his dad stayed up until 2am with phone calls. then they jokingly ask if he's heard any other phone calls because his dad doesn't tell them anything and he says "yeah he's trying to get lindor to play for 7 more years" and the announcers just die laughing.

Still can't process that chernoff's dad was the long time producer of Mike and the mad dog and other wfan shows

But what about David Herndon

There has to be an AL team for Popo... Texas? Hamilton injury and Cole reunion? Oakland? Tampa? He could hit some homers at Yankee Stadium too...
Even if you get run over by a clown car and pissed on by a busload of school children, it's still your responsibility to interpret the meaning of the event and choose a response

In the 337 PA where Howard didn't homer last year, he scored 10 runs.

No room on NYY. Tex and A's could be a fit? White Sox seem like a great fit. They're poised to head into the season with ole friend Cody Asche as their DH.

Very true! Not his fault. He's the only "active" player that ever had a season like that (scored on less than 3% of his non-HR PAs). Only 3 other actives ever did under 4% (Tyler Flowers, Rene Rivera, Wellington Castillo). League average is between 9% and 10%.

Odd stat: An NL team has only ever won consecutive World Series three times. The 1907-08 Cubs, the 1921-22 Giants, and the 1975-76 Reds. An AL team has done it 18 times, mostly by the Yankees.
