Just got off the phone with Paul Holmgren and he’s awaiting word on whether veteran right wing Ian Laperriere will need surgery to repair the damage done to his right eye last night.
“There’s a chance he’ll need to have something done,” Holmgren told me.

In other injury news, Jeff Carter and Simon Gagne had successful surgeries and the time frames for their returns remain unchanged, according to Holmgren.
Gagne will have an MRI in two weeks to determine how his right foot is healing and could be cleared to play three weeks from today. Holmgren said Carter appears to be done for the season.

If Boston meets Pitt, series opens Friday. If Boston plays Philly, its expected the series starts Sat.

Caps-Habs Game 7 is on Wednesday, doesn't that rule out Thursday?
