With apologies in advance to Milty... this was just a fucked situation. If they'd played it through, they would have been swimming by the 7th. If Tampa hadn't scored and they'd called it, we would have won... and spent the rest of our lives hearing about how it wasn't earned.

Did Selig say that if the Phillies had been leading and the game were called, they would have continued whenever they could including tomorrow or the next day? He wouldn't allow the game to end shortened by rain, even though there's nothing in the rules that let him do that?

Did I just hear Selig correctly?

Reporter asked what would have happened if the Phillies had still been ahead. He said the game would have been delayed until the weather allowed play to continue, and he was not going to allow that to happen.
