I hate Bud Selig and if I ever met him I'd rip out his small intestine, choke him with it, and then burn his balls

If this game is 2-1, Ryan Madson is on the mound for the 8th.

I'd have MUCH less a problem if they had given the Phils their ABs in the bottom of the inning. Call it after each team has had an equal shot in the downpour.

Jayson Stark confirms that the Rays checked out of their Philly hotel, and can't get back in, as the hotel is already booked up.

They are looking for more rooms now.

The scoreboard said the game would resume no sooner than 8PM tomorrow. Which thanks to Obama, means like 9:00 or something.

honestly, this is just SUPER WEIRD. and really it'll drive up interest in one of the strangest things that has ever happened in the World Series. if this game is suspended and there is a 3 1/2 inning game in a day or two, i think itll be weird and hilarious, and a little awesome really.

this is philly folks! of course the baseball gods are making us wait for it!

doesnt anyone see it that way out there?

No.

mlb corporate shill

It's just this was entirely and utterly predictable, and if MLB hadn't been married to the bizarre notion that they simply COULDN'T play this game after tomorrow (and now, ironically of course, the game will now most likely be completed on Thursday after all), it wouldn't have had to happen at all. they could have just delayed until Thursday, which was very clearly the only sensible thing to do since around 3 o'clock this afternoon.

i agree this is stupid. im just saying its "historic" and interesting at least. and we're a part of that. and we're still going to win this thing.

I certainly hope so. Will they restart this game from the beginning or what? They changed the rule now so that the game will resume in the bottom of the sixth, right? If that's so, that super sucks, because it wouldn't be so bad if this meant that Myers would just start a new game five tomorrow or Thursday or whenever. I trust Brett in this situation.

You do the math. They waited and waited and waited for that $#@! run. The second they get it, game called.

I thought a rule existed about how long they had to wait. Like 2 hours or something.

It's 30 minutes for a suspension.

No, I don't think the Phillies were seeing the ball well in the weather. They get 4 shots to bust this thing open on another day.

If they stick to their f*&king prime time schedule when logic may dictate otherwise, I am borderline sure that I'll never support MLB again
