Gillick gave a good description of how the rosters are handled in the playoffs. Only Iguchi is unavailable, everyone else in the organization (majors and minors) is eligible. They have four players on the disabled list with spots they can use, so they're in good shape when it comes to maneuverability.

well maybe. I'm pretty sure Victorino isn't playing and neither is Utley. Howard might though

Why not start them and just remove them after 1 AB? The roster is plenty big enough.

Its all about getting to have their names introduced, get the standing ovation, take a hack, and then come out. Even if they are hung over, I think they cna handle 1 inning in the field.
