optimal pairing is Dunn/Ingram or Murray/Simmons

I still think Dunn/Simmons can work if you surround them with lots of shooters

Dunn only shot 3% less well from three last year than Ingram did. But I still think we're in find guys who could develop into really good players mode, and that Dunn is a better bet there than Murray.

Yeah but Dunn is 22 and Ingram is 18, so it is not like he hasn't been working on it a lot longer. Murray is only 19 too. I prefer Murray to Dunn but it sounds like the Sixers don't.

Early morning #Sixers pre-draft workout. UNLV's Stephen Zimmerman among the group.

QUICK HITS

just take Baldwin over Dunn

Dunn did hit a decent percentage but every scout you read seems to think his shot and form looks bad, who knows what to make of that

Dunn falling to 6 only requires Bender, Chriss, and Murray, Hield, or a big going above him so I think it's pretty possible

drafting Okafor under the assumption you can just trade him for value later was always a stupid idea

would rather bite the bullet and do the deal than go into the year as a dysfunctional team again but I hope we can get a better throw-in or sweetener than Ajinca

Ajinca is maybe a notch above your average NBADL caliber center. And he fills absolutely zero need on the Sixers roster.

If we are dealing Okafor to the Pels for the #6, we need to get Jrue back as well:

PG Jrue
SG Murray (#6 pick)
SF Covington
PF Simmons
C Embiid/Noel

That's a deal and lineup I'm happy with.

Just keep trading overrated guys to the Pelicans for the #6 pick and some other goodie.

In 3 years we'll trade reigning finals mvp tj McConnell for okafor and #6.

Okafor only makes sense to the Pelicans if they are getting him for a bargain. Don't think they will view adding Jrue to the deal as a steal for them.

The BOD connected the dots regarding the random guy from Grand Canyon U that the Sixers are working out. GCU has a Colangelo School of Business.

Jah for Jrue would be fun

I don't get why we're allegedly so desperate to add another high pick in a draft that's weak at the top. Unless we're just desperate to trade a player and we're looking for younger pieces as compensation.

Would you do Jah for 16 and the right to swap one of our picks with Boston next year? I think I would.

Again, I know that I have become the "Okafor Overater" suddenly, but Okafor for the #6 pick and Jrue is not some unreasonable transaction. Jrue has been an absolute sunken cost for the Pels, and he doesn't have the value that we got for him three years ago. He also only has one year left on his contract, so the idea of including him on this deal seems reasonable to me. He's an expensive, injury riddled 1 year rental. Those guys aren't generally considered blue chip assets.

Okafor was the consensus #1 pick for much of last year, and he ended up having a better season statistically than many here were expecting. I think he's a horrible fit for this current roster, and the direction the Sixers are going in, but that shouldn't limit us to selling him for $.50 on the dollar. I still believe that the Celtics #3 pick for Okafor could very much be in play- they aren't going to have a package enticing enough to get Butler from CHI.

Why we would settle for the #6 pick and garbage is mind blowing. It literally was birthed from a Bill Simmons tweet. Let's allow a notorious Sixer hater to set the market for our top assets- that's a model worth adopting...

Definitely a middle ground between what Simmons thinks he's worth and what some here think he's worth.

He'd be your 4th big man in that scenario - willing to draft a guy number 3 to be your second big man off the bench?

I agree with this logic as well. Can't draft Bender #3 unless you are also going to trade Noel. And I like Noel. So no thanks.

Get the #3 from the Celtics, and then let the next 3-4 teams battle it out for trading up to get Bender. Take the best player left among Dunn, Murray, Hield (in that order) and grab an extra asset.
