Mentioned this the other day, I like Dunn but I hope taking him doesn't preclude them from taking a much better PG with the lakers pick next year.

Lot of the dudes next year could be combo guards so wouldn't worry too much.

Big for small

Sixers send: Jahlil Okafor to New Orleans
Pelicans send: No. 6 pick and Alexis Ajinca to Philadelphia

View in ESPN's trade machine

Why the 76ers do it: They don't believe Okafor and Nerlens Noel can thrive together on the court. Head coach Brett Brown wants to play fast, which makes Okafor more expendable.

In addition to likely taking Ben Simmons with the No. 1 pick, the Sixers would love to add a guard in the draft. Dunn, Jamal Murray or Hield should still be on the board at No. 6.

Why the Pelicans do it: Pairing Anthony Davis and Okafor gives them a powerful front court. It also allows them to shop Omer Asik for another potential backcourt player.

New Orleans isn't a perfect fit for Okafor -- I'm not sure there is one -- but this is the best the Sixers will do if they want to land another top pick.

Wait, there's another team called the pelicans?

I need to follow the NBA more closely, I guess.

Okafor+anything for Dunn would be a bad trade. You don't get Dunn at 6 so I wonder if that is the first trade to try to move up to get him.

moving Okafor for anything is a positive.

as JFly said earlier. i think most everyone here is overrating what he's actually worth.

FWIW, everybody I talk to with knowledge of Saric's situation overseas believe it's very likely he joins the #sixers this summer.

Dunn is a better fit with Ingram than he is Simmons.

optimal pairing is Dunn/Ingram or Murray/Simmons

I still think Dunn/Simmons can work if you surround them with lots of shooters

The thing I think Dunn/Simmons is you REALLY REALLY REALLY have to be confident Embiid is healthy to play because they need to open lanes to drive.

Dunn would be fine. can defend and pass. probably develop a good 3pt shot. has turnover issues so him playing off-ball more would probably benefit him a bunch.

Dunn only shot 3% less well from three last year than Ingram did. But I still think we're in find guys who could develop into really good players mode, and that Dunn is a better bet there than Murray.

it is probably easier to develop a shot than develop athleticism
