I've been looking for this myself. Kid goes way out of his way to finish with his right, no matter what the situation dictates.

derrick rose won an MVP award while never ever driving to/finishing with his left. this is a completely common issue with young guards

That's not even close to true. Either part. Rose is very good with his left, and it stops being a common issue at about age 14, when one enters high school. Either you play with both hands, or you don't play.

Rose 2011 playoffs:

It is true of many teenaged guards coming into the NBA. If you think that's not even close to true I dunno wear to tell you. Rose, Westbrook, jrue, wroten all had this issue (to varying degrees) coming into the league off the top of my head

In any case my larger point is that it is not unusual for a teenaged guard coming into the NBA to be one hand dominant. It really isn't

Nice lil puff piece on Hood. Still wouldn't mind him at 10, would love him at 16.

But it's not true of Rose. And we're not talking a dominant hand, we're talking a non-existent left-hand finish. Exum seems to do whatever is necessary to make a layup RH, even when attacking from the left. Two things I can't find video of that scare me are 1) Exum finishing lefty, and 2) Saric playing against black guys.

But it IS true of rose. he is right-hand dominant driver and finisher, with the ability to finish lefty when he needs to. in the 2011 playoffs, basically every play for him for a high screen on the left so he could drive right. even in the clip you posted he drives right, picks up his dribble and cradles with his right hand, and then goes left. this is why his athleticism is so important to his game-- he doesn't have the craftiness to do what he does without his insane first step and speed

i mean, hell, people were talking about lebron being forced to drive left as recently as last playoffs (or was that 2 playoffs ago)? or maybe it was just skip bayless.

i don't know why you think it is contentious to say that most teen guards are one-hand dominant. i don't agree with you that it is a "non-existant left hand." i don't think this many teams would be enamored with him if that were the case.

your entire argument seems to be based on having reached the conclusion that exum's left hand/arm does not work and coaches will never be able to fix it

My photograph and video breakdown of Dante Exum has lead me to believe that he does have a left hand. I'm not willing to say that with any certainty, but it's where I'm standing now on him until any further evidence comes out.

That's so weird. I was just thinking about how we had the 2002 ASG in Philly for no apparent reason.

Maybe they'll take that future 2nd round pick we got for turner instead?
