we're not really talking championship, though, are we? I think he emphasizes a lot of smart stuff for a young team (Denver were youngest in the league last year, I think) and actually enjoys playing/teaching those young guys

I forgot about Rivers' tenure in Orlando. I think you always have to be talking championship, whether it's taking a step back in order to take three steps forward or taking your team up to a whole other level. I don't think hiring Karl does either of those things.

man, I think he would definitely take us a whole level from Collins medieval strategies given equal talent, and he's shown throughout his career that he fosters youth

I felt that under Collins we were essentially a decent-fringe playoff team that might be able to steal a playoff series. Last year was a bit of an aberration because of injuries and whatnot, but that's about where I'd put us. I think Karl would make us a solid playoff team that might be able to steal a playoff series. I just don't think that's enough of a bump up.

I don't know, though. I'm in favor of bottoming out if we don't bring back Bynum, so I'm going to be a little averse to bringing in a guy like Karl who is guaranteed to get more out of our roster than Collins could.

Don't think it matters with regards to Karl, because that has Clippers written all over it as long as CP3 comes back.

That's a big qualifier there. I don't think Paul really wants to play for Sterling (because who in their right mind would?) and I don't think he really wants to play with Griffin.

I don't see how it's that simple, even if Paul stays. do he and Karl have some close relationship? I could see Paul or the organization preferring Hollins or Shaw. also, money matters, and Sterling is cheap while Harris appears to not be.

Lowe:
• Philadelphia 76ers: This job is still open, and the Sixers' new GM, Sam Hinkie, late of Houston, comes from the analytics-savvy crowd that has been raving for years about Karl’s sophisticated creativity on offense. This has been a very quiet coaching search, but the sense coaching sources have now is that Hinkie wants a chance to develop a strong relationship with a first-time NBA coach of his choosing. Chris Finch, a Houston assistant and coach of Great Britain’s national team, is a name to watch. Finch has also coached Houston’s D-League affiliate in Rio Grande, and developed a strong working relationship with the parent club from that perch.

Man hiring someone from Houston would probably drive Gargano to suicide. Let's do it.

hate isn't strong enough. He wants to get his sixers tattoo removed. He's pulled out every nerds in the basement who don't like sports cliché he can muster. It's like middle school being broadcasted.
