There are now wifi thermostats with smartphone connectivity available for less than $100. The higher end ones add other benefit on type. For example, they don't require someone to program a schedule, since they will learn from own adjustments/preferences. Or, they have multi-room sensors. Personally, I'm very happy with my programmable version that I can alter from my smartphone.
I'm just pointing out a misconception that my sister had, that you need to pay $200 for a thermostat if you wanted to control it from your phone.

he did it bc i guess he didnt want the tree to be hidden by the love seat (it wasnt!).
dont know if i should put up a fight about this or just let it be since i am gone in three days again and will be back for only three days before heading home for christmas.
