There's this smoked salt I use on steaks. I'll have to get the name when I get home.

My female roommate who sleeps with her door open clearly has her ass exposed while sleeping. Awkward.

yea. Lived with a couple that slept naked. No door to their room. You could see into their room from the front door.

IMO, as long as it's not 8 you're good to go, both work fine. The big schism isn't here yet and will probably come from Microsoft really trying to push through their Universal Windows Platform for application development. If it gains traction you'll see more support and integration available through 10. The only reasons I'd hold off are my own crippling apathy and laziness or if you have critical software/hardware with no possibility of updating.

Are they moving from an apartment to a house? What's the yard like? Something like a croquet set or badminton net might be a good gift for some people, while a fire pit or a hammock might be good for others.

Alternatively, I've always wanted a globe bar cart.

Best house warming gift I got was an Apple Time Capsule lol. Mostly got Home Depot/Lowe's gift cards, which were useful and very much appreciated, but not particularly thoughtful. My realtor gave me custom "I've Moved" postcards to send out to friends and family.
Another day, another box of stolen pens.

not sure if they are boozers, but a nice decanter would be a good touch or something for outdoor entertaining. Just think of things you would never buy on your own but would like.

i'm holding off right now for those very same reasons. Mainly, I don't want to get into a loop trying to re-install apps and getting things back where they were. I have one app that may not work, too.

The only reason I've considered not holding off is $.

Speaking of gifts, a friend let me stay at her house in Baltimore while I was taking a class. Worked out very well, as given our schedules we only crossed paths for about five minutes one morning (we get along fine, but i had been worried about getting in each other's hair). Like to send along a small thank you gift, probably something edible. Any thoughts?

and if anyone wants to send me that globe bar cart, pm me and i'll forward the address.

Someone sent me gourmet popcorn once. It was the best popcorn I ever ate.

I'd suggest something from DiBrunos, but their gift boxes are more like a medium sized gift.

Oooh, DiBruno's is definitely worth looking into. Makes it seem kind of local too. The popcorn wasn't a bad idea either, but I always send popcorn and I don't want it to seem (to myself) like I didn't put any thought into it, rather than going to all the trouble of posting it on a baseball message board.

Edit: You're right, they aren't cheap. but she did save me about $300 in hotel bills, so i suppose I can splurge a little.
