Last August, I said I'd support the GOP nominee. It's now clear who the RNC delegates will vote to nominate. And he is better than she is.

He is leaving a lot of room to semantic his way out that "endorsement".

That's fine. I'd rather people pretended the presidential race didn't exist if they weren't going to go full Ben Sasse, but pro-forma endorsements that are dripping with the contempt of being made to make such a choice don't bother me.

@seanmdav
If Bradley Manning wanted to avoid prison time for mishandling classified information, he should've changed his name to Chelsea Clinton.

Newt's about the only guy who can't be politically damaged by Trump (had no plans to run for anything other than plugging his books)

Pence would be way better than I thought he could do. Newt, as mentioned previously, would be tears down the cheeks from laughing so hard at how bad it is.

Joni Ernst to be one of the main, prime time speakers at the GOP convention.

No, I'd guess he's still in the mix as well. Trump seems to trust his advice.

will it be weirder if Lynch disregards that "blank spot", too? If I follow you, seems like it would be .... weird ... if she did

there are three potential positions here:

1. Gross negligence is not an applicable standard (apparently it's never been used in cases like this before)
2. It is an applicable standard, but it doesn't seem likely to get a conviction.
3. It is an applicable standard and she was grossly negligent.

I assume that lynch will take one of those 3 positions, probably the first or second.

How about, "She was negligent, but not grossly so?"
"I'm in a bar with the games sound turned off and that Cespedes home run still sounded like inevitability."
