Just in your back, or does it travel, say into your butt/legs?
What started the problem?
1) Just my lower back
2) I've always been horribly inflexible, pain started after working at the Costco in KoP moving carts and not being smart about how I was moving them.
A friend of mine who is a yoga instructor said the only time she worked with someone with a back like mine was a woman in her late 60s.
Sorry to hear that, man. Definitely get yourself to a PT when you get a chance (sooner would obviously be better). He or she will be able to parse out what tight muscles are the major culprit.
No offense to GPs, but they're not all that interested in the musculoskeletal system. They'll check you out - maybe rule out a disc issue - but, beyond that, can't offer much help.
Main culprits, typically - tight hamstrings, tight hip flexors, weak glutes - assuming no problems with the spine itself.
Stretching my hips for 20-30 seconds with a stretch like this always helps my back loosen up. Even more so than the hamstring stretch
Plus, you look FABULOUS!!!
