I was crossing the street on my bike when I was about 10, and some car nipped the front of my bike when they were turning. They kept going too. All it did was bend the front of my tire, but I couldn't tell my parents because I wasn't allowed to cross the street without my older brother. So I'm telling you guys.

Nearly met my end at a year or two older, biking back from the village pool one hot summer day with my "girlfriend". I was doing some damn fool thing, rode out ahead of her & right through a stop sign into an intersection, nearly got banged by some kind of state government vehicle. She was in tears, two old farts (probably not all that old) in the car were cursing me out. I laughed like a hyena. Made for a more interesting coming-of-age summer, as I was now in her eyes a devil-may-care man of action and adventure.
