exactly. sometimes the tracknig won't be updated for a couple days and all of a sudden it's 750 miles closer

Yea. It's USPS with delivery confirmation.

If they created the shipping label, and dropped it off in the post office box without getting it scanned, no info is posted until it hits your local post office for delivery. Vox mailed a valuable card (under $100) this way, once. Now we drop them off and get them scanned as they enter the system.

The post office can give you more detailed information than what the website gives you, they just have to look it up "in the back" on a different computer. Don't know if you can get the same info by phone or not. It can be any post office, as far as I know, not the sending or receiving post office. Also learned that over here in the land of a thousand post offices, one office is responsible for picking up all the blue boxes in the area, for multiple towns.

one had the audacity, and i mean that sincerely, to say he had a funeral back home in minnesota. turned out to be a lie. he went to rebuild his childhood tree house and blogged about it on one of those millennial sites. his boss saw it!

Flights to Cincy are super expensive for the length of travel. Usually $350 or $400. It's a 70 minute flight and a 9 hour drive.

American just dropped mileage redemption for 500 mile flights from 25k to 15k round trip which is...not a lot of miles at all. Philly to Cincy is 506 miles :|

I'm out $50 because of USPS. Ordered from a merchant on Amazon and USPS either lost or misdelivered the package. Opened a case with USPS and just today (after 2+ weeks) a USPS agent called back and told me they have "no idea where the package is" (exact words). I asked to open a claim and the agent said since the merchant didn't insure it I can't file a claim for reimbursement. So I'm out $52.89.

Also, a couple of weeks ago they failed to deliver a couple of bills. Luckily I caught it just before they were past due (called the elec and water co's and paid via phone).

I am so pissed at USPS, they refuse to take responsibility for what is their fault. USPS can DIAF.

By my experience, USPS and UPS have both really gone downhill over the last few years.

Usps was forced to close and consolidate a lot of their operations in order to prefund their pension system as required by a law passed in Congress in thr mid 2000s.

The barbershop I go to has three barbers, and only one of the three does a real good job every time. The awkwardness never fails when a seat opens, and I hear one of the lesser than barbers asks "who's next?". I tell them "I'm waiting for Paul." They take it like I just spit in their face.

What kind of merchant doesn't take responsibility for this? I mean, I know it's not really they're fault, but everyone I've worked with would take the bullet anyway.
