You obviously didn't run your view of the consensus by the Dude.
But we basically agree on this: most are saying he's a lock, or very lock-ish.
I've been saying - and now Nate's saying - that it's harder for drumpf than it looks. More 20% than 50%.
Kasich is a block, and his staying in is important to continue blocking. Cruz knows this, despite all his "2-person race" bullshit. Kasich wants to be drumpf's VP as much as I do. Pennsylvanian Rs, you damn well better back the kid from McKees Rocks.

The Nightman Cometh wrote:The narrative that the GOP will definitely be able to nominate not-Trump even if he has a strong plurality of delegate is interesting.
There is no evidence over the past four years that supports the GOP has the will to stop Trump or brokers strong enough to deny Trump his magic number and propel Cruz or Kasich to it.

They don't. I suspect that they will just end up supporting him and it will be up to the Democrats to take him down in the general.
The truth is that much (if not most) of the current Republican party agrees with a lot of Trump's views, it's the fact that he's exposed their bigotry and intolerance that irks the establishment.

Consider that the Republican party is technically an actual entity with individuals and institutions associated with it that have some interest in its preservation, and that this whole election deal is not some kind of fucking video game.
drumpf's pluralities are just that - pluralities - within the party itself. He isn't actually "winning" anything. He's just "not losing" by less than his remaining competitors. The party chooses its nominee, the primary process is a mechanism it uses to help filter would-be candidates. Even unincarcerated felons like Tom Delay understand basic facts like this.
drumpf's bleating now that if he falls ONE HUNDRED DELEGATES SHORT of 1237 - that's EIGHT PERCENT, if you're keeping score - he's gonna go ahead and predict RIOTS in Cleveland, is titanic assholery, suggesting his view is 'why have rules if they're rules that discomfit me'?
Hey, NCAA, if a shooting guard launches a 3 in the tournament that falls 8 percent short of the rim, you should go ahead and count it, or his team should walk off the court in protest.
Only the gruesomely stupid people supporting drumpf shrug at stupidity like that.

I understand there are thousands of people in state government and there is no way a governor can know what they are all doing but are we really to believe that Snyder's chief of staff knew but Snyder himself did not? GTFOWTS. I honestly would love to know why this idiot has not been charged with a crime yet.
