No shit. How'd he get endorsements for the column and get invited to every debate without party support?

Edit: nevermind I read the McCain/Feingold response.

Even if Trump is defeated I'm not sure what he's started will go away so easily. This is really, really ugly and I fear for our Republic.

Love the video clip of the one guy in the arena trying to start a fight while wearing a helmet. Man up, you obviously went inside for one reason.

Agreed.

The Republicans fucked up big time here by letting it get this far. The Democrats, however, will not stand for Trump's antics and we saw tonight that they will let him know that it needs to stop.

I loved the one of the little nerd in the blue shirt who saw a "Build the Wall" sign in the crowd and got so excited he high-fived the guy. Idiot.

They tried to interview a trump supporter. Asked him why he supported him. He got scared, couldn't answer, and asked to leave. Actually recorded that on my phone. Will try to get it on YouTube.

I pity him. I don't think he knows what hypocrisy means.

Feel like he's a college freshman with no friends but he's only there because his redneck dad made him go. He does look quite confused. There's no conviction in his voice.

I mean, then what happens?

Reasonable adults would probably rethink their party's platform(or, gasp, affiliation) if it has produced a front runner like Trump whose support is fueled by hatred, bigotry, and well, outright lies, but we're talking about the Republican Party who used all 3 of those things the last several decades to win elections. I just love this notion that you're utterly shocked that this is who your party is supporting when Republicans have been playing on these themes for decades. Please don't act like you're surprised that racists, homophobes, and xenophobes overwhelmingly vote Republican.

So the real American fascists stopped Trump rally tonight.Fascism in modern America is on the left--on college campuses, in left wing groups

i guess the lack of self-awareness is the main unifying force among Trump supporters.

also, Trump cancelled a rally in Cincinnati(possibly the most upper middle class city in the nation) on Sunday.

Nice. Now the narrative for him and his supporters can be one of being a victim. We are being attacked! We can't gather peacefully! More fuel to their anger and hatred fires.

so who were the protesters? I see the usual FB Idiots blaming the LIBTARDS but also many media reports that they were "Disciples o Glenn Beck". If those two groups have become one and the same now, well, I think here's where I'd like to get off.

DC Wyoming and Guam today for Republicans.

The pivotal northern Mariana islands for the dems.

The hate speech has really picked up in my neck of the woods. As someone who is a public preacher, I worry about how my words will be received.

At our elementary-age youth group, we have "questions from a hat" time every meeting. The kids are invited to write down a question, and we sit around in a circle and bat them around. Last Wednesday I pulled out question after question. The normal questions, "do pets go to heaven", that kind of stuff. Then we got to the last one.

It was, "Is it okay to kill a bad President?" After that question, Obama was in parenthesis.

I am still in shock about this. I said of course not, then about five kids (in a 20-kid youth group) started arguing with me vociferously. They think he should be executed. When I asked why, they couldn't really give me a stated answer. These are 5th and 6th graders. Racist ones, raised by their racist parents (although I'm one to argue that simply on the basis of being white, we are automatically racist). But these are Confederate flag loving, forgetting that we are in PENNSYLVANIA redneck kids.

They get it from their parents. I talked about how "you shall not kill" was important to understand, and that we can't just kill people we don't like, and that every president has had people that loved them and hated them. I also said that when I was their age, nobody in my classroom really cared about politics.

But the whole thing just left me sad. I don't know if I changed any minds- if if I did, they are going to go home to redneck dad and Bible thumping mom who tells them about the end of the world coming soon and what I said won't matter anyway.

This is a very, very small community, but the language of hate has increased tenfold since the Trump thing started.
Together we will win this game against the evil Space Yankees! Eat Fresh!
