unrelated: i'm the middle of working a 3 day event for the food cart at a mega church in Redmond, WA. tomorrow is the last day, but these people are the fucking worst. all super nice to you, but do nothing but talk shit constantly about other people. after about 20 minutes of interacting with these people i tried to avoid any interaction whatsoever besides getting their food ready. i've heard at least a dozen jokes from these good "Christians" shaming poor people(who are often portrayed as black).

also, they tip badly.

I consider myself Christian but the worst people I know in life are fake people let alone the faith. People that like to yell what their religion is don't have a true belief.

My wife bought me a new alarm clock because she hated the sound of the alarm on my old one. This new one has, I shit you not, 10 buttons on the top, whose function is shuffled at random. Also, it has like three-inch high LED numbers that glow with the power of a thousand suns.

they used our fire poker to pry open one our back windows. We have an older house and don't have a security system. They were rooting around for a spare key, but we don't have one outside of the house.

We have the same dog walker and the company is owned by a sole individual and she is legit. Our normal dogwalker is in her late 50s and takes great care of our dog.

Also, the police tell us the neighbors reported they were robbed yesterday along the same back alley stretch of homes. Our trash is picked up in dumpsters behind out backyard so if a garbage truck can fit down that stretch, a small car definitely can.

Does anyone have a home security system through their cable provider or any other tips? We have a big backyard and you really can't see anything from the street as a result. I asked our neighbors across the street and they didn't notice anything wrong yesterday.

that alarm system that bill simmons and others talk about on podcasts seems easiest and cheapest route.

where/how did you get the gift cards? if you have a receipt of any kind you should be able to get a serial number and then find out where they're used.

I had my condo broken into a few years back in old town. They took a couple of laptops, some cash and three snowboards. The lead detective for Scottsdale was a bit of an asshat and told them that this probably wasn't random and really didn't want to hear any part of it. I don't know if your in Scottsdale, PV or maybe even county where you are at, cause the border is a little weird around there. It always seems like there is some sort of rash of burglaries in PV with some former service or tech guy that knows the area well and knows when to hit it. If you are in Scottsdale, hopefully you get a female officer, not only are they kinda hot but they seem a little more caring to your needs, more helpful and more interested in your case.
