I'll be flying back this summer if not sooner. I was actually trying get get my parents to come out here for me and my mom's birthdays (3 days apart) in April so I might do it then instead.

SK, so sorry to hear about your dad. A good friend works in San Diego in cancer research, and he's essentially told me we aren't that far from cancer being like diabetes- people just live with it. Stage IV is obviously serious, and I have three people in the congregation who received a Stage IV diagnosis, and it's not necessarily the death sentence it was even a few years ago, as you probably know.

not joking about this - I used to go to a lot of dive bars in SF, like the seedy ones in the Tenderloin, and there's one old guy I met who I think might be PtK. He wore skull rings, talked about how America is over and had really fancy shoes like PtK wears.

My aunt was 57 when diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer and she died 9 months later. Hoping for the best, SK
