it's not pointless to the population who would find it very hard to wake up and be coherent in time for work that day

That logic dictates that we get the day after the Superbowl off of work, also. I am all for that, by the way.

Martin Luther King Day is the most pointless of the holidays.

In the next decade or so, a money grab will expand the NFL regular season to 18 games, so the season drifts to 3rd weekend in February, and Presidents Day becomes important for something other than mattress sales.

If MLK day ever catches on to its"day of volunteerism" goals, then it will be a very good holiday. However, as JH points out, president's day is entirely worthless and doesn't even have any goals in mind. what a slacker holiday

a fair amount of rappers & comedians and doofuses on the internet think Bill Cosby is being persecuted because he's black and powerful.

Kinda confused about the idea that holidays are about doing something. About doing anything. That something did happen/was done is why the holiday.

Let's not have any of the things. The sun's eventually gonna supernova anyway

Since the beginning of December, I have

    - Sprained my left thumb (softball)
    - burned my right hand (oven)
    - hyper-extended my right knee (softball, again)
    - contracted impetigo (twice)
    - developed a pretty bad chest cold

I'd like to go back to bed until 2017, please.

I had it once. It's not the worst, but it's pretty awful.

When it first presented it was on my neck, I thought it was just razor burn or something, so I bought a new electric razor. It started to present elsewhere, so I made an apt with my doc. At this point, it was just on the right side of my body, neck, forehead and armpit. The doc didn't know what it was (it being only on 1 side of my body seemed to throw him off) and he gave me a steroid cream to use and to come back if it didn't go away in a week. A couple days later and it showed no signs of slowing down. I went to another doc and she gave me an antibiotic (4 pills/day for 7 days). That helped and it seemed to go away but after 01/01 I noticed it coming back so I went back to the doc and now I am taking anti-biotic 3/day for 10 days. Hopefully, this knocks it out.

Haha...probably. The sprained thumb was from a collision with the first baseman as I ran to first and the throw from 3rd carried the guy into the baseline. I'm not large and he was so I was happy to get out of there with only a thumb "injury". It hurts but the only thing it stops me from doing really is yoga since I can't put too much pressure on it for too long. Pushups were hard for a couple weeks but it has been improving.

The knee was from me chasing down a flyball in the outfield and I stepped in a hole in the shitty field.

I'm playing softball in January, though so I have no real complaints. Just feel like I'm falling apart.
